About FLARE · 69 words
FLARE (Flourish in Life through Art + Resources for Endometriosis) is a cultural platform where art becomes infrastructure for awareness, dialogue and lasting change around endometriosis. Founded in 2026 by artist Priscilla Smith, FLARE works through exhibitions, the FLARE Journal, the podcast Inside FLARE, publications and film. Its inaugural exhibition, FLARE: Illuminating Endometriosis, presented work by 30+ artists from 13 countries in New York City, September 17–19, 2026.

Founder biography
Priscilla Smith is an artist, educator and the founder of FLARE. She paints, sculpts and welds, and she taught art professionally for years. She founded FLAME, an initiative that brings more women into welding and the metal trades, as well as P&L Smithed and And They Make. After surviving a life-threatening excision surgery for stage IV deeply infiltrating endometriosis (DIE), she founded FLARE in 2026 and curated its first exhibition, FLARE: Illuminating Endometriosis, in New York. She is the author of Flourish Through the Fire, a guided art journal for people living with endometriosis.
