FLARE: Illuminating Endometriosis
A contemporary art exhibition and experience in New York City — uniting art, advocacy, and community to make invisible experiences visible.
Friday, September 18 · 5–9 PM
Experience Illuminating Endometriosis at its most intimate and immersive — an elevated evening of art, connection, conversation, and community, surrounded by the artists and the stories at the heart of the exhibition.
Every day of the weekend offers a meaningful way in. Friday evening is the fullest one, and the only session with live music and seasonal hors d’oeuvres.

Saturday afternoon closes the weekend with a joint keynote, two panel conversations, performance art, and a final word from the founder — artists, clinicians, and advocates in the same room, speaking to each other in public the way they rarely get to.
Keynote · 3:00 PM
A surgeon and a clinical nutritionist open the afternoon together, on the same stage — which is rarer than it should be.
Panel One · Afternoon Panels
A conversation about how art can share lived experience, teach others, build community, and inspire change.
Panel Two · Afternoon Panels
A practical conversation about support, recovery, ongoing concerns, referrals, and quality of life after diagnosis, treatment, or surgery.
Throughout the afternoon
The afternoon is not only talking. Two performances run through it.
Four performers across the weekend. Friday moves from reflective to joyful as the light goes; Saturday turns from conversation to voice.

Chef of the Weekend
Jazz Urbane Cafe
Chef Guara Pimenta cooks the entire weekend around a single idea: food that loves you back. His menus are built course by course for bodies living with inflammation — and they are unmistakably a chef’s food, not a patient’s diet.
Thursday is a four-course chef’s dinner among the artwork. Friday is passed hors d’oeuvres through the reception. Saturday is a luncheon between the workshop and the panels.
Set inside The Sixth Floor Loft near Union Square, the exhibition occupies two connected spaces — The Annex and Studio 500 — designed to be moved through slowly.
This weekend is designed for bodies that need rest, quiet, and room to move at their own pace — because we know exactly what that means.

We are confirming the remaining accessibility and comfort details — seating, restrooms, and coat check — with the venue, and will publish them here as soon as they are final.
If you have a specific access need, write to us at flare.artproject@gmail.com — we will make it work.
Directions, subway fares, parking, congestion pricing, and where to stay are all in the full Plan Your Visit guide →
The exhibition is only the beginning. Follow along as artists are announced, behind-the-scenes moments are shared, and the inaugural exhibition takes shape.
